Welcome to Juneteenth - Jefferson City Heritage Celebration
Juneteenth - Jefferson City Presents
2021 Juneteenth Heritage Celebration
An In-Person and Virtual Event

June 14th-19th, 2021

Theme: "We The People . . . "
This is the 20th year for the Juneteenth Heritage Celebration in Jefferson City. We were looking forward to planning a Big Exciting Celebration for our 20th Anniversary. So our plan was that we would take it back to where it all began - The Park at the Community Center. Unfortunately . . . due to the continuation of COVID-19, and working with an abundance of caution we thought that for safety of our community and health reasons we would delay the FULLY IN-PERSON CELEBRATION until 2022. This year we will have an abbreviated observance of Juneteenth. We will hold three In-Person events and several Virtual Presentations. We will Pre-Release several Virtual Events daily during the week of June 14th-18th. Then on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. the Emancipation Program will kick-off the Juneteenth observance at Lincoln University Soldiers' Memorial Plaza. As we gather for the Emancipation Program, cars will line- for the Juneteenth Motorcade "The Journey for Justice ... Continues". Immediately after the Emancipation Program we will leave the Soilders Memorial Plaza and motorcade downtown, circle the Capitol and back to the Community Park (725 Marshall St.) where there will be a Give-A-Way of Bicycles. The virtual Presentations will start at 1:30 p.m at www.juneteenthjcmo.org.
